The school benefited as 20% of the total sales were given to us in the form ofbooks added to our library.
International Day
Saturday, 23 February was a special day for Choueifat Khalifa City! We hosted our first International Day.
Nine countries were represented: Canada, Egypt, India, Malaysia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines and UAE.
Students, parents, teachers, Admin staff were all there.
Talal and Sultan (grade 9 students) welcomed the teachers and parents on behalf of all the students and wished them a day filled with fun and excitement.
Our Director Dr Cronje welcomed everybody and thanked the students and teachers who worked hard to make a success of this day.
The International Day kicked off. We all appreciated the National clothes of the 8 participating countries. A surprise was the Lebanese Palestinian folk dance known as “Dabke” and the UAE local Dance.
After the show we all moved to the grass field where the different nationalities were displaying photos and souvenirs from their countries. Everybody could taste delicious food from each country.
Students lined up for Henna and Face painting while their parents lined up for the freshly prepared Lebanese bread!
It was a successful day to be repeated next year.

The Ramadan event
The students are busy preparing posters to decorate the cafeteria and the corridors as well as to announce the two Ramadan projects: the bake sale and the charity food box.
Student Life Team organizes an Iftar Dinner
The Student Life Team took the initiative to organize an Iftar in the school cafeteria on 4 October. Teachers, administrative staff and students from grades six and above were invited to the Iftar.
Iftar refers to the evening meal for breaking the daily fast during the Holy month of Ramadan. Iftar also symbolizes the sharing of friendship between Muslims, non-Muslims, their friends and family.
When the students were informed about this special Iftar, they were extremely excited and everybody wanted to be involved and came up with ideas to make it a special evening. Many students volunteered to bring food; others wanted to design the invitation cards for all the teachers. Of course their work and effort were appreciated.
On the BIG day, students were so excited, that most of them stayed after school to help organize the Iftar. Each and every student participated - some drew ‘welcome-posters’, while others were arranging the chairs and preparing the tables. Students stuck to their promise, and at six o’clock parents delivered traditional Iftar dishes. Soon the rest of the students as well as the teachers and admin staff arrived and everything was set. Eventually everyone settled down and took their seats, while impatiently waiting to hear the Ad’ an.
Students and teachers not only enjoyed the food, but also chatted and shared their time together until it was time to clean up and go home.
For sure, this was a special Iftar to be remembered by all.
